Ashikaga Flower Park

Kanto, Japan · Town / small city

A 150-year-old wisteria tree declared a natural monument, its branches trained over a frame into a giant umbrella of bluish blooms, next to an 80m tunnel of white and yellow wisteria and more than 350 wisteria plants in total; extremely photogenic but very seasonal (blooming in early May), though it also has a second high season in winter with a night illumination of 4.5 million LED lights (mid-October to mid-February).
